There's a battle going on in my art world: Should I be painting at my easel or creating illustrations on my computer? Currently, as a Freelance Artist, the brush and the mouse are competing for my time. I've spent many years painting as a hobby and doing Graphic Design as a career, but right now, I need to get serious about my own art business. More and more it looks like the computer is winning. But how can I make pet portraits and graphic design work together? I think I can do this and much more.
The illustration shown here was created by using Adobe Illustrator on my iMac. I'll have to admit, it was a lot of fun to do and much faster than painting. (At least for me, it is.) Right now, this image is just a digital file, but by using a print-on-demand company, I can have it printed with high quality ink. I can also have it printed on canvas, or put on products that I can sell. Digital illustration like this has much more versatility than traditional artwork.
It feels like I'm stepping into my future as an artist. I welcome any comments. :)
Just an artist rambling on about her love of art, dogs, and pet adoption. And I also like to share cool dog videos, photos, and some famous quotes I like.
