I can see Ginger gets her looks from the Min-Pin, but I never guessed this as a breed she was related to.
Ginger loves to pull me on our back country walks. I always though she had some working dog in her. She also has a double coat, and loves to spend time outside.
Playing fetch is Ginger's favorite past time, and her way of getting a lot of exercise. And just like a Springer Spaniel, Ginger will dive into water to get a ball.
The shelter where I adopted Ginger, said she was a Shepherd mix, but according to the Wisdom Panel Dog DNA test, Ginger is related to the Miniature Pinscher, Samoyed, and Springer Spaniel. I had not guessed that any of these breeds could be in Ginger. Other people had guessed Chow mix or even Korean Jindo!
Puppies sold in pet stores often come from puppy mills. And pet store owners will mislead their customers about this, and there are some people who just cannot believe that anyone would treat dogs like this.
