My Pack of Rescued Dogs

Picture
Here I am with my four adopted dogs, out on one of our many hikes. From left to right: Honey, Blackjack, Ginger, and Odie. Honey was found collapsed from dehydration behind a commercial building, and had no ID of any kind. Ginger and Odie were rescued from a kill shelter, and this was Ginger's second time to be surrendered to the same shelter! She came back because she was frightening small children with her extreme energy. Then on an April morning, while on a hike with my first three dogs in a wildlife area,  we found Blackjack wandering around,  abandoned and severely emaciated. He walked over to me and rolled over, his skinny, hairless tail wagging so fast! Then I told him: "You're safe!" Looks like another lost dog without ID. I blogged about Blackjack's rescue here.

I've been drawing and painting since I was very young. Born in San Diego, I've lived in Southern California all my life. In 1989, I graduated from San Diego State University with a B.A. in Art, and an emphasis in Applied Design. I am currently a Free-Lance Graphic Designer and Painter of Fine Art.

After adopting Honey, who was found as a stray on a very hot August day, she re-awakened my long time love of dogs. Always an artist, now an artist on a mission: To use my talent to inspire others to find enough compassion in their hearts to choose adoption when they decide to get a pet.

Oh yes, the four dogs you see here are cheering me on!
